
Jessalynn's Journalistic Bio:
Jessalynn Keller is a freelance journalist who specializes in the areas of women’s issues, media criticism, arts, urban life, health, style, beauty, and teen media. She grew up in Saskatoon, SK and graduated with a BA Honours in sociology and women’s studies from the University of Saskatchewan before moving to Vancouver, BC. She completed a Master’s of Journalism degree at the University of British Columbia and wrote her thesis on third wave feminism in teen magazines, which was inspired by her time spent interning at NYLON Magazine and Seventeen Magazine in New York City. Since graduating she has worked in New York City, where she was a freelance copy editor for Hearst Magazines’ teen sites, as well as working as a freelance writer and researcher in Toronto and Vancouver. She has written for NYLON, The New York Press, TeenFlare.com, FASHION, Flare.com, Chatelaine, ElleGirl.com, Inked, Toronto Life, and The Tyee. She currently lives in Austin, Texas where she is a PhD student in the Department of Radio-Television-Film at the University of Texas at Austin.
